Panasonic HDC-SD100 Camcorder Reviewed

TrustedReviews has done a review on Panasonic HDC-SD100 AVCHD camcorder. HDC-SD100 features a 0.52 Megapixel 3MOS image sensoe, 12x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom, face detection, image stabilization and a 2.7-inch LCD display. It uses the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec. SD100 is a SD camcorder supporting up to 32GB of SDHC cards.

In previous camcorder eras, Panasonic has excelled at providing models with comprehensive features for the enthusiast. Its NV-GS400 was the last great ‘prosumer’ DV model. Until the HDC-SD100 arrived, no manufacturer had combined AVCHD with quite that level of professional features. Canon’s HF10 and HF100 are close, but the HDC-SD100 goes a few steps further with its standard accessory shoe, viewfinder and lens ring. Most amazingly, Panasonic has managed to fit all this into a tiny camcorder weighing just 382g. It’s not perfect – the Canon’s beat it for overall image quality, and at close to £700 it’s not cheap. But if you’ve been holding out for an AVCHD camcorder with the full gamut of professional features, this could be your dream come true at last.

Asus Bamboo Series Notebook PC

This new Bamboo series will be available in 12.1-inch and 11.1-inch models. The 12.1-inch Bamboo is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo T9400/P8600/P8400 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS video card with 256MB video RAM, up to 320GB hard drive

They will come with also a DVD SuperMulti writer,8-in-1 card reader, a 0.3 Megapixel webcam and support for WiFi wireless connectivity. The 12.1-inch will get also WiMax support.

Intempo offers two iPod dock+radio combo, the RDi-W and the Fusion. Both of them serve as an iPod dock and speaker. The RDi-W comes with also internet and FM radio tuner but no DAB support. It has a 30-watt speaker and built-in subwoofer. The RDi-W supports LAN and wireless LAN connectivity for internet radio and music streaming from PCs. It will be available in late September for GBP 169.99.

Blackberry Bold to be Launched Soon on AT&T.

According to reports from two different sources, the Blackberry Bold is about to be released on unsuspecting AT&T users. However, when is an open question.

According to Gizmodo, the date is Sept. 12th, and the Bold will sell for $299. While Gizmodo gives a rating of 95% probability on this happening, it's interesting that the leak came from AT&T store employees.

Not exactly the highest-placed or most credible sources.

On the other hand, the Boy Genius Report has a less satisfying, but possibly more realistic date of Oct. 2nd.

BGR says that their info is from a "high-placed" source. That's probably more credible than a store employee. And while Oct. 2nd is more than a month away, it might give AT&T time to figure out the 3G issues that appear to be cropping up on the Bold.

They probably don't want to release another 3G-sucking phone to their network until the iPhone issues are ironed out, either.

Explanation: That's right! The college football season is underway. I have reason to watch Sportscenter again! It's time for your Jeremy's Status Message Virginia Tech Football Preview!!!

Virginia Tech Football Preview

Offense: Well, last year's ACC champions lost three wide receivers to the draft, and the fourth receiver graduated. Last year's running game was pretty weak, and the starting tailback was kicked off the team for disciplinary reasons. Oh, and two other tailbacks were injured in the spring and got a slow start this fall. The two-headed monster at quarterback is going with only one head, as Tyrod Taylor will be redshirting. Of course, last year he was going to redshirt also until the LSU game, three games into the season. So, the team has no proven weapons. The offensive line, however, should be much better this year, so that's something. Grade: C

Defense: The heart and soul of the defense last year, Xavier Adibi, Vince Hall, and Brandon Flowers, were all drafted, along with two defensive linemen. The defense was pretty deep, though, and should reload again this year, with cornerback Victor "Macho" Harris being the feature player on this side of the ball. Grade: B+

Special Teams: Frankly, I don't care if they send the band out on the field - Frank Beamer always gets and A on special teams. I don't know who's kicking or punting or returning kicks or anything. Doesn't matter. Grade: A

Intangibles: Virginia Tech has spectacular intangibles. You can't quite see them, and they're just out of your grasp, but they are there and they are incredible. You can't find better intangibles if you try. If you could measure the speed of the Virginia Tech intangibles, they'd be really fast. If you could measure the strength of the Virginia Tech intangibles, they'd be really strong. If you could measure the intangibles of the Virginia Tech intangibles, they'd be off the chart. But, you can't, so just trust me on this. They rock. Grade: A+

Language Arts: Jeremy needs to show improvement in his comprehension of poetry, and tends to lose focus while writing long blog entries. Grade: B

Mascot: Our mascot is a giant turkey who does the bench press in the end zone after touchdowns. Who else can say that? Grade: A+

Final Prediction: The team will win more games than they lose, they will cause me more stress than I need, and they will have less players arrested than LSU. Oh, and they'll go to a bowl game for the 16th season in a row.
