Cheer India for low cost Laptop

Its really good news for all Indian because India will be the first country who is going to unveil its own low cost laptop intended for use by school children and students.

I am personally so excited with this news. The computer cost just Indian 5000 rupees that is $100. It so cheap laptop ever I heard about. It will definitely bring India to height of technology. At first it was said to be 10$ laptop which was mistranslated because transcripts of the speech, in which it was unveiled, mentioned it costing $10 (£7) but this was later corrected to $100 (£70).

A spokesman for Minister of State for Higher Education, D. Purandeswari, said on Wednesday that the price of the laptop would in fact be US$100 rather than $10.

The government did not however provide information on the specifications of the laptop, or whether the price would include a subsidy from the government.

It will great news for Indian students and those parent who want to give best gift for their children.

Dell's Inspiron 910 Netbook Available Friday? Or is it Thursday?

Dell's answer to the Asus Eee PC, the Inspiron 910, now has a date, according to reports. While there is still no confirmation as the price, which has been widely rumored as $299, it appears the netbook will be showing up "any time soon."

According to Gizmodo, that day will be Friday, Sept. 5th. It should be noted this isn't the first date the 910 has "received;" an earlier rumor said the UMPC would show up on Aug. 22nd.

Problem is, there's yet another date running around the Web: according to Box.net, which makes OpenBox, one of the preinstalled apps (AKA crapware) on the UMPC, that date is Thursday, Sept. 4th.

Still with some of the support documentation showing up online, it's definitely gotta be soon (keyboard, external optical drive, status LEDs), and either way, it is.
