Sony NAS-M700HD and NAS-D500HD NAS Audio System

Sony introduces in Japan three NetJuke music NAS audio systems including the CMT-E300HD, NAS-M500HD, and NAS-M700HD. All these NAS devices are designed for Sony’s Walkman music players.

The NAS-M500HD and NAS-M700HD both come with a 160GB hard drive for storing music. They have a 4.3-inch LCD display, CD player an output power of 2×20W, DLNA 1.0, support for MP3, WMA and ATRAC music formats. There are Ethernet port, dual USB ports, WM-PORT, analog audio out and headphone out. The NAS-M700HD comes with also MD player.

The CMT-E300HD has 80GB hard drive and comes with only one USB. It cannot play CD.

All the three devices can do CD to HDD recording and the NAS-M700HD does also MD to HDD recording.

Sharp’s 7 new Audio Systems

The CD-DK890N and CD-DK891N mini audio systems offers iPod connectivity via the iPod-docking slot. They have a five-disc CD changer, digital AM/FM tuner, support for CD-R/CD-RW, MP3 and WMA, 250-watt output and X Bass.

The CD-G14000 is a 600-watt audio system with five-tray CD changer that can handle music CD, CD-R/RW and MP3/WMA discs. It has AM/FM tuner.

CD-SW340 comes with Sharp’s Music port for MP3 playback, five-tray CD changer, 500-watt output, full-logic double cassette deck and AM/FM tuner.


Sharp’s 7 new Audio Systems

Sharp announced at the CEDIA seven new audio systems, including CD-DK890N, CD-DK891N, CD-G14000, CD-SW340, CD-MPX880, XL-DK257 and XL-DK227.


CD-MPX880 delivers 125-watt output per channel. It has the Music Port, five-tray CD changer, FM /AM tuner and full-logic double cassette deck.

XL-DK257 and XL-DK227 are micro audio system offering 160-watt and 64-watt respectively. They have single tray CD player, X-BASS, AM/FM tuner.

Sony BDV-IT1000ES and BDV-IS1000 Blu-ray Home Theater systems

Sony BDV-IT1000ES Blu-ray System

Sony presents at the CEDIA EXPO 2008 the BDV-IT1000ES and BDV-IS1000 blu-ray home theater systems. Both of them are single-disc 5.1 channel surround Blu-ray Disc systems. They can deliver 1080p full HD performance.

Both systems comes with integrated Sony’s S-AIR technology for easy wireless multi-room audio setup. They supports BD-Live that allows users to connect to the Internet for BD-Live features and firmware update.

Both Blu-ray systems feature Sony’s new Precision Drive HD, which helps to detect and correct wobbling discs from three directions, stabilizing playback of bent or scratched Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.

Sony BDV-IT1000ES a 700W (100W per channel x 7), and a 200W subwoofer while the BDV-IS1000 is a micro home-theater-in-a-box system featuring five tiny speakers that are approximately the size of a golf ball.

They have also xross media bar XMB menu, BRAVIA Sync, Digital Cinema Auto Calibration and Digital Media Port. There are two 1080p HDMI inputs on both system.

Sony BDV-IT1000ES will be available in October for $1,999 while the BDV-IS1000 ships in October for about $1,000.

Yamaha presents the new YAS-71BL Air Surround XTREME surround sound system. The new YAS-71BL Air Surround XTREME offers a total of 210W output power, two woofers and one tweeter. It features the exclusive 24kHz HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function), Extended Stereo for well-defined sound location, and support for Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic II audio codecs.

It has also built-in FM tuner, a wall-mountable design. User can also add iPod support with the Yamaha Universal Dock (YDS-11) and Bluetooth support with the Yamaha Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver (YBA-10).

Other than HDTVs, Philips introduces at the IFA 2008 also the Ambisound HTS8140 DVD Home Theater System.

The Ambisound HTS8140 system comes with four speaker towers, a dedicated centre speaker, a super-slim main DVD/amplifier unit that can be wall or stand mounted and a subwoofer that comes with a 150 watt Class ‘D’ digital amplifier.

The system features the Philips 9.1 Cinema Sound technology, that can create a 9 speakers experience with the five speakers available. Each of the tower speakers has a high quality 18mm soft dome tweeter plus a 2.5″ woofer for conventional 5.1 reproductions with two additional, specifically angled 2.5″ full range driver. Together, they create the 9.1 Cinema Sound effect.

TEAC Reference 380 HiFi System

TEAC introduces the new Reference 380 HiFi system that comes in several componetns ,including the A-H380 amplifier, PD-H380 CD Player, TH-380 AM/FM tuner and two LS-H250 speakers.

The A-H380 amplifier offers a 45Watts x 2 maximum output power, 10Hz~65kHz frequency response. It comes with 5 RCA in and 2 RCA out. It has also a iPod dock adapter.

The PD-H380 CD player supports CD-R/RW discs and MP3 and WMA audio files. The TH-380 AM/FM offers 30 preset stations. Lastly, the LS-H250 speakers has a maximum output power of 50W.

Intempo RDi-W and Fusion iPod Speaker/Radio

Intempo offers two iPod dock+radio combo, the RDi-W and the Fusion. Both of them serve as an iPod dock and speaker. The RDi-W comes with also internet and FM radio tuner but no DAB support. It has a 30-watt speaker and built-in subwoofer. The RDi-W supports LAN and wireless LAN connectivity for internet radio and music streaming from PCs. It will be available in late September for GBP 169.99.

Philips announced three new Network music players, including the NP1100, the NP2500, and the NP2900. These network players can connect with wireless networks and do internet radio streaming or music streaming from PCs.

The NP2900 comes with built-in stereo speakers while the NP1100 and the NP2500 can be connected to the home stereo system and its speakers via a coaxial cable. Both NP2500 and N2900 have a color display while the NP1100 gets a monochrome screen.

Philips introduces at the IFA its CinemaOne home theatre system, which combines iPod dock, DVD/CD player, ive channel amplifier, six speakers, and a subwoofer into a stylish box.

The Philips CinemaOne can process Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG2 multichannel or stereo sound tracks. It can play DivX, MPEG and WMV videos from DVD,CD or iPod. CinemaOne can also upscale movie to 1080p HD resolution via the HDMI port. Measure in the size of a soccer football, Philips CinemaOne has USB port and MP3 link that can connect portable devices for WMA/MP3 music playback.
