A Few of My Favorite Things #1

(This is really helpful if you want to enjoy your kids more.  Looking for the positive, guess what?, makes you feel more positive!)

Here are some things I noticed/appreciate about my kids:

--Jane so cheerful when she comes home from school

--all of them are so willing and happy to go to church each SundayRomney Kids 2

--they all listen and contribute in church, Family Home Evening lessons, and scripture study

--Faith's awesome little voice

--G's early birdness (sometimes it’s annoying, but I can certainly appreciate a person who wants to get up and get going on his day!)

--S cheerfully doing his deep cleaning jobs. He's coming around!

Awesome Seth

--I know I can count on E to do a thorough cleaning job…so she gets the ones I know guests/visitors will see!

--how much G loves the snow.  He’s been out hours every day…even in 10 degree weather.

Gabe Sledding 2

--last week, when it was 10 degrees, on the way to swimming I asked Gabe, sarcastically, “I bet getting in a pool sounds lovely right now.”  He looked at me and said “Really, Mom, it does!”

--that Emma wants to sing in choir.  This is good bonding time for us.

--that S picked up something that wasn't his!

--that Faith looks like this

Faith (8)
--that Jane was the first to memorize the first line of memorization project: The Living Christ

--that Gabe tried really hard to follow a hard to follow rule this weekend

--that Emma is so patient with Faith

--how much G LOVES his music class.  He’s constantly singing their Christmas stuff.  Love a 10 year old boy who’s not afraid to sing at the top of his lungs!

--I appreciate that F's insistence that everything be on her terms will make make her a force to be reckoned with in this world.

--how friendly and open my kids are.  Look at how relaxed and content Faith is with Santa.  I love that my kids are outgoing and loving to people around them.

Santa Claus & Children

Wow!  Even though they aren’t robots who want to follow me around while I run errands and keep the house spotlessly organized, they are pretty great!  Who knew?

Imagine a media plan with 20 or 30 different formats where you need to do the .gif and the .swf. Well, these people from 4delite have created a tool to do all those formats all al once in the same process so the workflow would be really faster and cheaper than now.

The project runs under a Flex framework, at least that´s what they say in their blog. For the back side they ask for .NET, C#, WSDL and XML. Take a look at the video:

It looks great! Perhaps it´s too much to say that in a campaign you have to do seven thousand banners but the way it works looks fast and effective.
The cost is about 50 dollars every mont for little commerce, big customers should ask

Here is a slideshow about the tool:

This is why buying presents is essentially pointless

(I've seriously timed it).

He just insisted it "take a picture of JUST these special blue feathers". So here:

Fake memory cards

We often hear people saying that "if it's cheap, it's inferior". Well, that may not apply for some services or products, but when it comes to memory media it is often the case. The fake ones are generally sold online or via unscrupulous retailers at half the price (or sometimes much less) of the real McCoys. So what difference will it make when using a bogus media? For starters, counterfeit

I Simply Remember My Favorite Things and then I Don’t Feel So Bad

I completely believe in personal revelation;  I believe God knows us, is intimately involved in our lives and through His Holy Spirit will guide and direct our lives.  It’s a good thing, too, because I need His help.

Increasingly over the last few weeks, I’ve felt really frustrated with my kids because

a) they are not robots

b) they seem to have slightly different goals than I do about how to treat our stuff, how to use time, etc.

I’ve felt badly about it and have been praying for help.  I pretty much got hit over the head with that Help yesterday because

1) at church the speakers spoke about charity and loving rather than judging and being long-suffering with people who are different than you (see b above).

2) during class time, we’ve started attending the marriage class.  Instead of getting any insight into things I need to change about my marriage, I spent the entire time mutating the excellent teacher’s comments about spouses and marriages into ideas about children and mothering.

3) Ryan taught an excellent lesson for Family Home Evening on how we show Respect.  (Not super respectful when I snap and yell at the human beings in my house, is it?)

4) I listened to a Conversation with Julie Beck and her daughters and it was all about motherhood and priorities and safe havens.

5) I read Julie Beck’s talk on Priorities and Power.

I’m thinking Someone was trying to tell me something.

I got lots of ideas about how to tweak my routine and thoughts, but the main one was to Pay Attention to the Good Things They Do.   So…for the next few weeks I’m going to do one post a week where I list why they are such good children.

Picture 040

We’ll start tomorrow.  Should be easy…they are pretty fabulous.

SlySoft GameJackal Enterprise v4.1.1.0 Multilingual + Crack

Game Jackal Enterprise has become the gaming tool of choice for cybercafes! Cybercafe owners and managers stand arm in arm with the private gaming community when it comes to no CD gaming.

Protection of their gaming investment, convenience of use and small hard drive footprint are cited as the main reasons for moving to the Game Jackal product. Given the growing popularity of Game Jackal Enterprise within the world-wide cybercafé community it was inevitable that we would develop an Enterprise Edition of this great product. The Enterprise Edition of Game Jackal has all the features of the basic product plus some fantastic additions to enhance the manageability of a no CD gaming environment for cybercafé owners. Enterprise Edition seemlessly integrates with other third-party launchers and cyber-café applications such as SmartLaunch and CyberCafe Enterprise.

Quick Quote

Faithbite

Faith always asks us for a “Piece of Bite” when she wants something.  Other notable Faith quotes:

1.  “I’m just Yooking, Mom!” (when I told her not to touch something)

2.  “Mo-om, Ses is being a meanypants!”

3.  “Hey Mom, what a dinner a night?”  (While leaning casually on the cabinet:  “What’s for dinner tonight?”)

4.  Not a quote, but hilarious to us, still:  While praying, she folds her arms at her forehead and then, while keeping one arm at her head, uses the other arm, crane-like to scoop up food.  If she’s praying, too bad, you’ll just have to wait until she’s done chewing.

5.  “Hey.  Guess what?”  And then proceeds to show us some pointless body motion.

6.  While “cooking” in her toy kitchen:  “Jus a minute, Mom. I’n almos ready.”

Faithbday1

I realize these don’t read super hilariously, but really: when you have a 2 1/2 foot tall person, who was a BABY 3 seconds ago, in a little lispy, high voice, saying this stuff, you kind have to die all day long.

flv Cuepoints Actionscript 3

We are hearing a lot lastly about the future of video in the web, moreover, here in Spain I´ve seen platforms improving video seo in the web as DigitalNovae does

Besides, we are also seeing really good sites in the FWA website, with what I would call interactive video, for example this one from ACTI or this other from Wrangler

I´m sorry about HTML5 boys, you can not do this by now, only Flash can. So, this is the question: Is it possible to move the video head with Actonscript? Can you play backward?

For the second question I don´t have the code (I welcome solutions), but for the first I do.
First, if you happen to load a video in a website, if you can it would be better to embed it in the timeline and then just use tags with gotoAndPlay or gotoAndStop.

The problem is more complicated if you have to load several videos in streaming and you want to interact with them.

Lastlly we had a project for a customer, he wanted to do something similar, you can see a
demo here. This is a microsite with four streaming videos, we load four .flv with the FlvPlayBack component. The briefing says that whenever the user interacts over or out the video, there must be a listener so that the video shows other message or not.

To do this, we followed some recomendations from our friend luckyPig, the best way is to make an array with the video cuepoints where you will work. For example, let´s take the video of the girl from the right.

If we see the complete video, we will do two loops, standby loop and movement loop. Also we will mark the cuepoints of the jumps from forward to backward. If you record this, you´d better use a croma and export if for .swf from AfterEffects.

//Cuepoints times:

1- Init
2- End Loop 1
3- Beginning of forward step 1
4- Beginning of loop 2
5- End loop 2
6- Beginning of forward step 2
7- End

So lets do an array:

Cuepoints for the young girl
0/10/14/22/36/37/40

Let´s go to the code:

import com.greensock.*;
import fl.video.*;
import fl.video.MetadataEvent;

var flv_chicajoven:FLVPlayback;

var tiempos_chicajoven:Array = [0,10,14,22,36,37,40];

//Adding the cuepoints
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[0], "chica_iniciobucle1");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[1], "chica_finbucle1");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[2], "chica_salto_adelante");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[3], "chica_iniciobucle2");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[4], "chica_finbucle2");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[5], "chica_salto_atras");
flv_chicajoven.addASCuePoint(tiempos_chicajoven[6], "chica_final");

//Listeners of the flv
flv_chicajoven.addEventListener(MetadataEvent.CUE_POINT, chicajoven_listener);

//Boolean variables to control
var chica_enbucle1:Boolean=true;
var chica_ensalto:Boolean=false;

function chicajoven_listener(eventObject:MetadataEvent):void {
if (eventObject.info.name == "chica_finbucle1"){chica_irInicioBucle1();}
if (eventObject.info.name == "chica_finbucle2")
{
chica_irInicioBucle2();
chica_enbucle1=false;
}
if (eventObject.info.name == "chica_final")
{
chica_irInicioBucle1();
chica_enbucle1=true;
}
if (eventObject.info.name == "chica_iniciobucle1"){chica_ensalto=false;}
if (eventObject.info.name == "chica_iniciobucle2"){chica_ensalto=false;}
}

//Movement of the head in streaming
function chica_irInicioBucle1():void{flv_chicajoven.seek(tiempos_chicajoven[0]);};
function chica_irInicioBucle2():void{flv_chicajoven.seek(tiempos_chicajoven[3]);};
function chica_irSaltoAdelante():void{flv_chicajoven.seek(tiempos_chicajoven[2]);};
function chica_irSaltoAtras():void{flv_chicajoven.seek(tiempos_chicajoven[5]);};

//Events
chicajoven_bt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, fl_chicajovenON);
function fl_chicajovenON(event:MouseEvent):void
{
trace("fl_chicajovenON");
if(chica_enbucle1==true)
{
chica_irSaltoAdelante();
chica_enbucle1=false;
}
if(ejecutiva_enbucle1==false)
{
ejecutiva_irSaltoAtras();
}
if(viejuno_enbucle1==false)
{
viejuno_irSaltoAtras();
}
}

chicajoven_bt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, fl_chicajovenOUT);
function fl_chicajovenOUT(event:MouseEvent):void
{
trace("fl_chicajovenOUT");
if(chica_enbucle1==false)
{
if(chica_ensalto=true)
{

TweenMax.to(cuad_mc,0, {delay:2, y:-224, onComplete:onFinishTweenChica, onCompleteParams:[5, cuad_mc]}) function onFinishTweenChica(param1:Number, param2:MovieClip):void
{
chica_irSaltoAtras();
}
}
else
{
chica_irSaltoAtras();
}
chica_enbucle1=true;
}
}

//The same for the other videos...

Well, lastly the customer decided he wanted just static photos instead of videos. But it was a good R+D project.
