Install CyanogenMod 7 Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 On LG Optimus 2X



 

CyanogenMod 7 ROM for Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 is now available for LG Optimus 2X. This release is a nightly build and is recommended for testers and those who want to play around with Gingerbread on their device. You need a rooted LG Optimus 2X to install the ROM.

STEPS

1. Root LG Optimus 2X and install ROM Manager from Android market. No need to go for the paid version, free one will do.

We have a step by step guide on how to install CyanogenMod ROMs using ROM Manager, but for your convenience we are repeating the steps for LG Optimus 2X here.

2. After installation, open ROM Manager and tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’.

For installing CyanogenMod ROMs, you need to first download and install ClockworkMod Recovery.

3. From the list of devices, select ‘LG Optimus 2X’.

4. Let ROM Manager download and install the recovery file, which could take quite a while depending on your network speed.

5. After ClockworkMod Recovery installation is done, go ahead and reboot your phone.

6. Once again launch ROM Manager and tap ‘Download ROM’.

7. From the list, select CyanogenMod 7 and check the option ‘Google Apps’ if you like.

8. Once the download is complete, you will be asked if you like to ‘Backup Existing ROM’ and also ‘Wipe Data and Cache’ before proceeding with the installation. Tap ‘Yes’.

9. Let the process of flashing CyanogenMod 7 onto your device complete.

That’s it. Your LG Optimus 2X will now reboot and it will be on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread based CyanogenMod 7.
