Dealing with weaknesses can be tricky and often throws a job seeker off in an interview, but with a little preparation, you can sail right through these questions. My suggestion is to tell the truth in a way that puts your best foot forward. Don’t refer to it as a weakness, instead say “an area for development I have” or “a growth area for me is.” The next step is to never state the weakness without pairing it with how you compensate for it or how you are working on developing in that area.
Everyone knows that no one is perfect and your interviewer is not expecting you to be. What they are looking for is an honest self-assessment and the proof that you are committed to improvement. It is important to put some thought and preparation into this process. Role-play with one of your friends or write out what your development areas are and how you would answer questions effectively, so that when it comes time for the interview, your answers will be smooth and confident.
