Is this Singapore’s future MRT network?

At first glance, do you think this map depicts Singapore's train lines?

Don't worry, you're probably not the only one if you don't.

The picture has been making its rounds over Facebook, with more than 500 users sharing it with their friends.

It shows Singapore's existing East-West, North-South, North-East and Circle lines, along with several yet-to-be-built MRT lines that fill up gaps in the current MRT network.

Visible near the top of the picture is, presumably, a line that stretches into Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Don't you think the map looks a little like the subway networks of London and Tokyo?

As of this writing, the Land Transport Authority has not yet responded to Yahoo! Singapore's inquiry on whether the first image accurately reflects Singapore's planned MRT network.
