Raising Cain

Conservative Herman Cain now leads liberal Mitt Romney 38 to 18 « Wintery Knight:

I think a big part of the problem Romney faces with Republican-primary voters is that he looks and comes across as a professional politician. I actually think he'd make a pretty good president (especially considering the starting baseline), but he's just too "slick" looking during the debates.

Perry has gobs of executive experience but may not yet understand that his position on some key issues are not ones that the Republican electorate support - not to say Perry is wrong, but he is not persuasive on those issues like immigration and comes across as defensive.

The rest of the field consists of ... um ... er ... I don't remember.

Herman Cain may be frequently in error (or not) but he is never in doubt. That appeals to the Rep voters and it shows.
